If It Smells Good, If It Looks Good, It Will Be Good

Did you ever go into a Bakery and say , ” boy does it smell good in here ” the smell of freshly baked  bread, the smell of cinnamon  and nutmeg. Or go into a Restaurant and the first thing you notice is the smell coming out the kitchen door, the smell of garlic, the sweet perfume of fresh herbs making your nose twitch and your eyes light up. We do smell with our eyes when it comes to cooking and baking, even before we have a chance to see the food! We have it in our minds that the food must be good, but will it look good? Then you see the food. Does it look good enough to eat? Is it decorated properly? Is it cooked right? Is it burnt? Is it undercooked? We taste it. Does it taste good?Does it taste bad? Is it old? Has it gone bad?

All these things are weighed when we cook or bake for somebody. Does it smell good? Use fresh products, herbs, and spices to attract your customer. Does it look good? Make sure it looks good on a plate and is eye appealing and has good color.Does it taste good? Taste your product and critique it. Would you like to be served this if you were paying good money for it?

If all these tests are done, It will be good, and you will be proud of your self that you created the finest product possible.

  1. Well it must be good because my Hips tend to think they did eat it before I even put the food in my mouth lol 🙂 On a more serious note, I love the smell of fresh baking and am the sort of person who would happily queue at the local bakery on a Saturday morning for whatever I can get my little mitts on!!!

  2. Both of you are making me laugh! I started getting hungry just reading this… and that’s after downing way too many fruit tarts, eclairs and creme puffs today! Well done 🙂
